Sensei Dennis
(Oregon Chief Instructor)

Dennis WanlessSensei Dennis has been the Oregon Chief Instructor for JKFNW since 1998. He first began training under Sensei Junki Yoshida in 1978 and proved to be a fierce competitor, quickly becoming a national champion, and later turning his attention to the other side of the ring to become a national referee. Dennis began teaching for Japan Karate Federation in 1987 at the Multnomah Athletic Club as an athlete/instructor earning the Head Instructor position at the club in 1990. Now the Chief Instructor at the home dojo, Sensei Dennis is a strong mentor to many students.

Japan Karate-Do Meibu-Kai

Now teaching for Japan Karate Federation NW, Ryobu-kai, Hideharu Igaki Sensei coached for the USA National Karate Federation U.S. National Karate Team from 1995 to 2009 and was the official Head Coach for the USA National Karate Federation U.S. National Karate Team from 2002 to 2009. He also was a professional kick boxer in Japan before moving to the U.S. in 1979. He and his wife, Jan, also create beautiful Hikidashi clay pottery.
